Overview
Every website lives somewhere. This Track teaches the part most courses skip: domains, DNS, hosting, SSL, email, backups, and fixing things when they break.
You work on real hosting in the WeDev Cloud Hosting Environment, provided by iVERT’s sister company, WeDev Cloud. The ideas carry over to cPanel and other hosts, so the skills go wherever you do.
This Track is for you if you
- Want to launch and look after websites for yourself, an employer, or clients
- Are aiming for website support, hosting support, or site management roles
- Plan to build WordPress sites and want to own the whole launch
It is not designed for
- Building site designs or writing code (see the site-building and development Tracks)
- Running your own servers from scratch (covered in the Professional WordPress Track)
What You Will Learn
- Explain how domains, DNS, and hosting work together
- Register and point a domain, and manage its DNS records
- Set up hosting and install WordPress, by one click and by hand
- Secure sites with SSL, firewalls, malware scanning, and safe sign-in
- Create business email with SPF, DKIM, and DMARC, and reliable WordPress email
- Back up, restore, stage, and migrate WordPress sites
- Speed up sites with caching and a CDN, and troubleshoot common problems

Options for keeping your site live after the Track are shared at orientation.
What if I miss a session?
Sessions are recorded and posted on the learning platform, and you can ask questions at office hours.
How much time will I need each week?
About 6–10 hours: one 120-minute live session plus 4–8 hours of self-study.
Will this get me a job?
