Overview
This Track turns working code into reliable software: automated tests, pipelines that check every change, staging and rollback, and sites that stay fast under load.
Then you choose one specialization and build a capstone in it. Depth in one path beats a little of everything, and it gives you a strong story for interviews.
This Track is for you if you
- Build themes and plugins and want senior-track engineering habits
- Want to specialize in WooCommerce, headless, multisite, or plugin products
- Want a production-grade project before job searching
It is not designed for
- Learners still building plugin basics (take the plugin Track first)
- Full DevOps or cloud engineering
What You Will Learn
- Write PHPUnit and Playwright tests for WordPress code
- Run checks automatically on every change with GitHub Actions
- Use repeatable environments with wp-env or Docker
- Deploy to staging with a documented rollback plan
- Improve speed with profiling, object caching, and a CDN
- Work on servers over SSH, with Nginx or Apache and PHP-FPM
- Deliver and defend a capstone in one specialization

Assessment and Certificate
| Component | Weight | What it covers |
|---|---|---|
| Testing and server labs | 15% | Hands-on checks, with feedback |
| Mini-projects (2) | 25% | Written comments and one resubmission on each |
| Capstone | 50% | Working project with tests, CI, staging, and a demo |
| Mock interview | 10% | PHP, hooks, security, and debugging questions, with written feedback |
Certificate of completion: awarded to learners who score 70% or higher with an acceptable capstone. You get written comments on projects, an answer key for practice sets, and one resubmission on each mini-project.
What you will build

Track FAQs: Find Quick Answers
Which specialization should I choose?
Pick the one closest to the work you want: online stores (WooCommerce), modern front ends (headless), large networks (multisite), or selling plugins (commercial plugin).
Do I need the block Track first?
For the headless and commercial-plugin paths, yes. For WooCommerce and multisite, the plugin Track is enough.
Is this an expert certification?
No. Expertise comes from years of shipping. This Track gives you the habits and a strong project to start.
What if I miss a session?
Sessions are recorded and posted on the learning platform, and you can ask questions at office hours.
How much time will I need each week?
About 6–10 hours: one 120-minute live session plus 4–8 hours of self-study.
Will this get me a job?
iVERT does not place graduates or guarantee employment. iVERT is not an accredited college; Programs do not grant degrees or academic credit. However, you will leave with job-relevant skills and a portfolio project to show employers.
